Dr. Takahito Mikami is currently working as an associate professor at the Department of Urban and Civil Engineering, Tokyo City University. By conducting analysis and comparison of coastal disaster events around the world and numerical simulations/hydraulic experiments on a physical process of coastal phenomena, he is working on the mechanisms of disaster damage, measures to mitigate the damage caused by disasters, the vulnerability and risk of coastal communities to disasters and climate change, and the future of coastal communities.
