Dr. Martin Mäll is a postdoctoral researcher in the Research Institute of Sustainable Future Society, at Waseda University, Japan. His background is in the field of environmental technology and coastal engineering and management. The primary expertise and research focus lie on various numerical modelling techniques and approaches to study present and future weather extremes and consequent impacts on coastal communities. During doctoral studies in Japan he received the MEXT Scholarship and JSPS Fellowship for pursuing research in furthering the understanding of disasters of tomorrow. For a brief time he also worked in the Estonian Marine Institute and Tallinn University.
